Subject: Details of Reunion Events and Required Reservations
Dear Classmates,
Final coordination has been made on the Class of 1987 Reunion. The main event will take place at The Lobby Banquet Hall on Adams Street in Downtown Creston on June 30th, 2012. We have scheduled a variety of events throughout the weekend for all to enjoy. I have solicited numerous classmates to host at each event. Please support them in their efforts to make this a great weekend for all!
You should be receiving a mailing this week - enclosed you will find a sheet containing class reunion picnic and dinner RSVP’s (details below). Please fill out the detailed reservation sheet and mail it back to in the enclosed pre-addressed stamped envelope no later than May 1, 2012.
Two key events require advance reservation and advance payment - the McKinley Park classmates, family and children picnic (11am to 2pm Saturday) and the saturday night main event dinner (6pm to 10pm) at the The Lobby Banquet Hall downtown. Advance reservation and payment ensures proper amounts of food will be purchased and prepared for these events. Although the four following events do not require a reservation, we would appreciate information about your intent to participate so that we can better plan.
Other events include:
Pre-reunion social Friday night at A&G (7pm to 9pm)
2 mile/5k fun run at McKinley Lake Saturday morning (7:30am to 8:30am)
9 hole best ball Pine Valley golf tournament Saturday morning (9am to 12pm)
Bowling at Panther Lanes for families and children (2pm to 4pm).
Although this seems like a lot of events our hope is to provide something for everyone before Saturday evening dinner. If you plan to attend any of these events please include the enclosed non-required reservation form in the envelope with the required reservation form.
We are negotiating discounted hotel reservations - 15 rooms blocked for two nights at the Super 8 in Creston. Final pricing will be determined on May 1st when all reservations are complete. Feel free to call the Super 8 and ask for a reservation under the Class of 87 Reunion under the name of Kevin Braun. Super 8 can be contacted at (641) 782-6541.
As the time of this event draws closer it will become more challenging to send updated information out to each classmate. With that in mind we have reactivated the class reunion web site at http://creston1987.myevent.com/. All future updates will be posted to this site. The Classmates page on the site will provide you the opportunity to see what other classmates are doing and update others with words and pictures on the path your life has taken.
We will be creating a slide show with pictures taken throughout the weekend that will play during the reunion dinner. Please also feel free to email or upload to the web site any pictures you may be willing to share from our high school years and since. The class email address is: crestonclassof87@yahoo.com. No embarrassing pictures will be included in the show.
The web site also provides a list of classmates on whom we have updated information and those on whom we are still needing addresses. At the point of this mailing this letter will go out to 72 of the 111 fellow classmates. I will continue to send out mailings until the last week for those whose addresses we have not yet been identified. Any assistance you can provide with this process would be greatly appreciated. Please email any information you have to the email address listed above. The website will be updated to indicate those who will be attending and what events they will be participating in once I receive and process your RSVP.
I believe our 20 year reunion was a great success and everyone who attended felt welcomed and enjoyed getting to know their classmates as adults. The years had clearly put to rest our missteps of the past.
I hope our 25th reunion will once again allow us to celebrate the best of what was the best of what has occurred since and the best of what is to come - we would all greatly appreciate the opportunity to see you and your family.
